PURPOSE:To impart a pattern to a three-dimensional formed article while preventing the pattern from being deformed or reverse plated, by a method wherein sheet-forming auxiliaries are placed on extensions of edges of a three-dimensional formed article, a patterned film is formed into the shape of the formed article and the auxiliaries, and is brought into close contact with the latter. CONSTITUTION:The sheet-forming auxiliaries 7 are placed on an article base 2 at positions of the extensions of the edges of the three-dimensional formed article 1 having a pyramidal, prismoidal or other similar shape, the patterned film (e.g., a transfer film provided with a releasable varnish layer, an ink pattern layer and an adhesive layer on a base sheet consisting of a thermoplastic film) 3 is placed on the formed article 1 and the auxiliaries 7, and then the film 3 is formed into the shape of the formed article 1 and the auxiliaries 7 and is simultaneously brought into close contact with the latter, thereby imparting the pattern to the formed article 1. |
