PURPOSE:An ink-dot printer available for excitation at a low voltage in which on super-paramagnetic ink is affected by electro-static attraction, allowing it to be brought to equilibrium by applying a magnetic force in an opposite phase and causing the magnetic ink to fly by heating it in conjunction with a recording signal after the ink is demagnetized by this heat. CONSTITUTION:A single molecular layer coating of oleic acid on colloidal particles of ferrite of Mn-2 is dispersed uniformly in an organic solvent to obtain a magnetic fluid and a magnetic ink is produced by adding pigments, viscosity controlling agents, wetting agent, etc. This magnetic ink is supplied at the end of a magnetic stylus 102 mounted on a permanent magnet 103 and an electrostatic pressure is applied between the stylus 102 and an opposedly located electrodes 101 on the back side of recording paper 102 and this electrostatic attraction and a magnetic force caused by the permanent magnet 103 is brought to an equilibrium, and the ink is deprived of its magnetic property by heating it up to above the Curie temperature and by heating the heat-generating body 104 at the end of the magnetic stylus 102 in conjunction with a recording signal, thus the ink is allowed to fly after interrupting the above-mentioned equilibrium. |
