PURPOSE:To obtain a titled side guide that allows free setting of the position of a plate during operation of a rolling mill by attaching a pair of guide plates to the frame through screw shafts and rotating each screw shaft normally and reversely by gears connected with a driving device. CONSTITUTION:A pair of guide plates 4a, 4b are mounted on the frame 3 of a base stand 2 facing each other. Screw shafts 6a, 6b are screwed to each guide plate 4a, 4b. The screw shaft 6a is a hollow shaft and rotatably supported to the frame 3, and a gear 10 is fixed to another end and meshed with a driving gear 9 connected to an electric motor 8a. The screw shaft 6b is connected to the output shaft of an electric motor 8b. Above-mentioned electric motors 8a, 8b are rotated normally or reversely and guide plates 4a, 4b are set to a specified position. The position of insertion of a plate material can be set freely to the direction of roll width by the side guides. Accordingly, plate material having various width size can be rolled in the whole width of the roll. |
