PURPOSE:To obtain a variously improved electrostatic copying machine by improving the attachment and detachment of a driving force transmission system, photoreceptor, and peripheral devices between supports of a shell type electrostatic copying machine, fixation, both parts of a cassette, etc. CONSTITUTION:This copying machine is equipped with the shell type supporting mechanism which consists of the 1st frame body, i.e. lower supporting frame body and the 2nd supporting frame body, i.e. upper supporting frame which are coupled together in a free swiveling state. A driving source provided to either of the 1st and the 2nd supporting frame bodies and a transmission train provided to the other are engaged together and disengaged by relative opening and closing operations. The upper supporting frame body is provided with a rotating drum 12, cleaning device 36, electric charger 28, and developing device 30. A couple of rollers of a fixing device 80 come into press contact by being energized by the driving source. Further, sheet conveying mechanisms 38 and 40a are simplified, excessive power consumption by the elctric heating element of the fixing device 80 is suppressed, and adverse influence or residual toner sticking to a fixing roller upon the fixing roller is eliminated. |
