PURPOSE:To obtain a sliding contact material using produced oxide as a lubricant and having improved wear resistance by adding one or more among Sb, Te, Mo, Pb, Se, As and Zn to an Au alloy material contg. a prescribed percentage each of Ag and Cu. CONSTITUTION:A sliding contact material is obtd. by adding 0.5-10wt% one or more among Sb, Te, Mo, Pb, Se, As and Zn to an Au alloy material consisting of, by weight, 61.5-63.5% Au, 6.5-8.5% Ag and 29-31% Cu. The sliding contact material gives a brush contact which is much superior to a brush contact made of a conventional sliding contact material in wear resistance, produces a very small amount of powder owing to wear, has lower and more stable contact resistance, and generates hardly noise. By adding 0.01-0.5wt% Fe group metal in addition to said metals, the grains of the contact material are made fine, and a sliding contact material with further improved wear resistance is obtd. |
