PURPOSE:To reduce the length of the long holes to be provided in a hearth, to decrease heat loss and to simplify the construction of a driving device by inclining walking beams relatively with the advancing direction of a material to be heated and enabling the upward and downward driving thereof. CONSTITUTION:A titled heating furnace 1 consists of two sets of beams 7, 12 extending horizontally in the advance direction (l) of an object 6 to be heated, supporting members 9, 14 supporting the beams 7, 12, and driving devices 10, 15 driving upward and downward the beams 7, 12 via the members 9, 14. Said members 9, 14 extend upward through the holes 16, 17 provided on a hearth 2. The beams 7, 12 are driven upward and downward within the perpendicular plane inclusive of the beams 7, 12. The beams 9, 14 are adequately inclined and the through-holes 16, 17 of the hearth 2 are diagonally formed in conformity with the inclination of the members 9, 14. A heat loss is decreased and the construction of the devices 10, 15 is simplified by the above-mentioned furnace 1. |
