PURPOSE:To enable efficient manufacture of a strut and to reduce its manufacturing cost, by a method wherein a triangular space in a slit formed by enlargement is filled with a metal through welding process. CONSTITUTION:A lengthwise slit 11 is formed in the central part between each of two faces, positioned facing each other, of the opposite ends of a square tube 10 made of a metallic material, and the other faces positioned opposite to each other are forcedly spread outwardly by the use of a V-block to form an enlarged part 2 which is curvedly bent out. Thereafter, a triangular in the slit 11 enlarged resulting from the formation of said enlarged part 2 is filled with a metallic material by weld 12 to provided a finished side window strut 1 formed in a desired shape. |
