Motor vehicle windscreen wiper drive unit

The drive unit employs an electric motor and a conversion gear with at least two gear elements which rotate at differing angular velocities about respective rotational axis. Each axis carries at least one gear element having a profile section in engagement with a further gear element with a similar profile, at least one of the inter-engaging profiles being of plastics. The plastics employed has a content of 5-20 wt. % reinforcing fibres. The plastics pref. also includes a small amt. of a self-lubricating cpd., 5-15 wt. % PTFE or 1-2 wt. % Mo disulphide.
