PURPOSE:To recognize a corner edge by making a scan on a picture in four directions, i.e. horizontally and vertically, and at +45 deg. and -45 deg.. CONSTITUTION:When the tilt angle theta of one ridge 3 of one substance is 22.5- 67.5 deg., the picture is scanned horizontally and vertically and when theta is 0-22.5 deg. or 67.5-90 deg., the picture is scanned at + or -45 deg.. When a corner feature point 5 is extracted, a line y=0 is scanned horizontally at first. At this time, whether (8X1) picture elements on the line #0 of each block are all (0) or not is checked; when ''yes'', the next process is entered and when ''no'', a rough scan is made. Then, a line y=8 is scanned. Further, whether all picture elements of each block are (0) or not is checked; when ''yes'', (y) lines are scanned by each 8 lines at rough intervals. This rough scan is stopped when the check result becomes negative. Consequently, the corner point 5 is in one of blocks 4(3.1), 4(4.1), and 4(5.1) and a fine scan on them is made. |
