PURPOSE:To eliminate a large difference in retrieval time among data by transferring data which are read out at specific address intervals to a main storage device on the basis of the record length, the number of records, and the size of a main storage area of data transferred from an external storage device. CONSTITUTION:The data from the external storage device 1 is transferred to the main storage device 4 through a buffer 2 and a registering circuit 3. The record length, the number of records, and the size of the main storage area are set in a registration decision circuit 5 by program execution. The registration decision circuit 5 decides on whether the data read in the buffer 2 is registered in the main storage device 4 or not according to the execution of various instructions outputted by a CPU. A set signal S is sent out to a registration flag 6 for registration and a reset signal R is sent in other cases. The main storage device 4 registers data at specific intervals of addresses. Consequently, any data does not has an extremely large difference in retrieval time. |
