The terminal block has numerous terminal screws for clamping electric conductors to the terminals. The terminal block is convertable into a two-part coupling by auxiliary devices. The latter comprises a number of threaded contact pins for screwing down into the terminals for replacement of the terminal screws. The terminal block is converted into a male and female coupling part with numerous plug socket contact elements for the pins. The socket contact elements pref. have threaded bores for the terminal screws, removed from the terminal block, serving for clamping electric conductors into the contact elements. In the female part the socket contact elements may be inserted in a very wide seat. The terminal block may be connected to an electric gear into a surrounding encapsulation. The latter may have a number of cable inputs, grouped asymmetrical round the same.
