In the process for producing filled tubular packages a film web is bent around its longitudinal axis and formed into a tube. The two longitudinally axially extending edge regions of the web are joined overlapping using a smoke-permeable, adhesive layer containing a pressure-sensitive adhesive, the adhesive layer if necessary being anchored on the web material by an adhesion-permitting resin. The flowable compound is simultaneously forced into the formed tube. In order to join the edge regions of the web, the prefabricated adhesive layer, which is disposed on a backing tape with anti-adhesive surfaces, is transferred with the backing tape to at least one of the overlapping surfaces in the edge region of the web and the backing tape is pulled off the transferred adhesive layer.
