Process and device for drying articles

In order to avoid the formation of cracks and deformations in the drying of articles, such as ceramic products, the articles which are moved forwards continuously are contacted with a jetted drying medium, the state of which is kept constant. The drying medium is supplied periodically, i.e. at temporal intervals. The ratio between blowing time and the time of the blowing pause per cycle is then changed lineraly, quadratically or stepwise during the course of the drying process, shortening the blowing pauses.
