PURPOSE:To obtain a food having high preservability and effective to adult diseases, by mixing the extract of Fomes japonicus and oil or fat containing eicosapentaenoic acid, and if necessary, adding a natural antioxidant to the mixture. CONSTITUTION:Fomes japonicus is extracted with hot water, concentrated under normal or reduced pressure, and dried to obtain powdery extract. The extract is mixed with an oil or fat containing eicosapentaenoic acid. The amount of the oil or fat is >=20pts. based on 100pts. of the sum of both components. It is preferable to add about 0.2%, based on the oil or fat containing eicosapentaenoic acid, of a natural antioxidant such as tocopherol to improve the preservability. The oil or fat containing eicosapentaenoic acid is e.g. that of blue fish such as sardine, mackerel, etc. or of marine animals living on fish. |
