In a spot-type disc brake (Fig. 1) with a brake calliper (16) open in the radial direction and held displaceably on the brake anchor plate (1), a hold-down spring (22) is provided. The hold-down spring consists of a strip-shaped spring element (40) and tongue springs (41, 42) arranged parallel to the strip-shaped spring element (40), the tongue springs (41, 42) having relatively long arms (30, 31), the free resilient ends of which rest on the upper narrow side of the back plate (33) of a brake shoe (6), the said back plate facing the piston (15), and the short arms (28, 29) of which are supported on the upper narrow side of the back plate (32) of the brake shoe (21), the said back plate facing away from the piston (15). The tongue springs (41, 42) are firmly connected to the strip-shaped spring element (40), supported by its free ends (24, 25) against the brake calliper (16), by webs (47, 48) which are provided outside the central section of the strip-shaped spring element (40) in the region of the brake shoe (21) facing away from the piston (15). <IMAGE>
