The invention relates to a mill for the comminution of granular materials with an essentially horizontal drive shaft, and with a loading hopper, a comminuting tool, and a stationary sieve which is followed by an ejector device. The invention essentially has the object of providing a mill of this kind which ensures, in spite of short transporting distances of the material to be ground within the mill, fine rough-grinding with a high throughput and relatively low drive power, without blockage of the passage openings. This object is essentially achieved in that a second comminuting tool (10) is provided on the drive shaft (4) on the other side of the stationary sieve (6) and before the ejector device (14), and is surrounded by a conventional cylindrical sieve drum (11), the first (5) and the second (10) comminuting tools having scraping blades (15,20), which are moved directly past the sieve openings (7) of the stationary sieve (6) on the one hand, and past those (12) of the sieve drum (11) on the other hand.
