Novel polypeptides represented by the following formula: H-X-Lys Arg Ser Gln Met Leu Phe Arg Gly-Y-OH wherein X represents a bond or a peptide or amino acid residue containing 1 to 16 amino acids of a peptide chain represented by Ile Gln Val Met Als Glu Leu Ser Pro Ala Ala Lys Thr Gly Lys Arg starting from the C-terminal, and Y represents a peptide or amino acid residue containing 1 to 5 amino acids of a peptide chain represented by Arg Arg Ala Ser Gln starting from the N-terminal, protein conjugates thereof, hybridomas and monoclonal antibodies induced by the polypeptides or protein conjugates, and a method for detecting and purifying human gamma-type interferon utilizing them.
