PURPOSE:To perform continuous flaw detection with high detection precision by making convergent ultrasonic wave beams incident from numbers of focusing type probes at right angles to the flange part of welded shape steel, and performing the flaw detection while moving the welded shape steel and the probe group relatively. CONSTITUTION:Numbers of focusing type probes 2 are arranged at breadthwise intervals outside of the flange part 1F of the welding end steel 1 to breadthwise length enough to cover at least a weld zone 5. Then, convergent ultrasonic wave beams are incident from respective probes 2 at right angles to the flange 1F, and the flaw detection is performed continuously while the welding edge steel 1 and probe group 2 are moved relatively. |
