PURPOSE:To improve a plate manufacturing process and simplify manufacturing equipment by pouring lead compound slurry into an electrolyte holding bag, and inserting a current collector in the bag, and removing water and drying it to form a plate. CONSTITUTION:A bag 3, comprising a 3mm. thick nonwoven sheet of glass fiber and synthetic resin fiber, measuring a 70mm. width and a 50mm. dipth, whose circumferences 2 are bonded except the upper opening 1 is used as a retainer. Slurry, is made by adding water to lead oxide and adding defloculating agent to the mixture. A specified amount of slurry is poured from the upper opening 1 of the bag 3, then a lead alloy current collector 4 is inserted into the bag 3. By this process, a cathode plate and an anode plate are formed. An electrode plate group comprising one cathode plate and two anode plates is assembled and pressed to a specified thickness and aged in high humidity atmosphere having 85% RH or more, then dried. |
