PURPOSE:To display the coverage of a range finder by supplying a display signal representing the range coverage of an automatic focusing mechanism to an electronic view finder monitoring an image pickup picture. CONSTITUTION:The video camera having an automatic focusing mechanism is provided with an electronic view finder monitoring the image pickup picture, a signal generator 14 generating a display signal representing the range of the automatic focusing mechanism, and a signal synthesis circuit 15 applying the display signal from the signal generator 14 to the electronic view finder after superimposing on the video signal. A range designating signal formed by a range designating section 7 is transmitted to a range finding section 8 and used to detect the range to an objective and for forming a range display signal at the display signal generator 14. Thus, the range is displayed on the electronic view finder 1 and the operability is improved. |
