PURPOSE:To improve machining accuracy and efficiency by reciprocating while rotating a workpiece when grinding it on a double head surface grinder. CONSTITUTION:A workpiece W is supported by a fixing jig 4 on an indexingly rotatable carrier plate 3, and is indexed and positioned in the grinding position between grinding wheels 1, 2. The carrier plate 3 is made to reciprocate within a plane perpendicular to a shaft 5 and the fixing jig 4 is rotated by means of a motor 10, through a universal joint 11, and with gears 7, 8. Thereby, the workpiece W is ground while being rotated and reciprocated, improving machining accuracy and efficiency. |
