PURPOSE:To automatically grind and finish a complicatedly curved surface in a short time by interchangeably providing wheel heads which can make both linear motion in the directions of X, Y, and Z, and rotary motion in the direction of A, B, and C. CONSTITUTION:A workpiece mounted on a swiveling table 14 can make linear motion in the X, Y directions by means of X, Y tables 12, 13, and rotary motion in the direction of C. A column 15 can be swung in the direction of A with respect to the table, and the wheel head 18 on the column can make linear motion in the Z direction and rotary motion in the B direction. Several wheel heads are stored on a magazine 25 and a wheel head for each purpose is interchangedly used by means of an interchanging device 24. As a wheel head is exchanged, a rotary speed in accordance with the grinding wheel can be automatically obtained. |
