The transport device (1) for workpiece pallets (2) for joining successive processing machines comprises a conveying means (8) which runs round in a guide channel (7) and bears the pallets (2) guided in the guide channel which carry the workpieces to be processed. Each processing station is assigned a stopping and positioning station (11) having a stop (13) which can be moved into the conveying path and which serves for stopping a pallet, and locking bars (24, 24', 26, 26') which interact with wedge-shaped or conical stopping faces (37, 41, 43) of the pallets, lift the respective pallet off the conveying means (8) and position it.
