PURPOSE:To provide excellent arc starting performance by eliminating the action of an equiv. reactor and starting the arc with the specified output unitl the arc is generated in the stage of starting. CONSTITUTION:A switch SW is connected in parallel with a circuit 3 for generating an equiv. reactor and the switch is turned on only in the stage of arc starting to eliminate the action of the equiv. reactor. The switch SW is turned off after the arc is generated. Then the output current of a fast rise is obtd. by making the equiv. reactor zero until the arc is generated and a stable arc characteristic is obtd. by the action of the equiv. reactor after the arc is generated. The same effect as the effect to be obtd. when the arc start current of a fast rise is obtd. by by-passing the reactor of a main circuit in the prior art is thus obtd. |
