PURPOSE:To detect collision on communication medium without comparing the content of transmission/reception data by detecting a beat signal produced by two carrier signals when >=2 stations make transmission at the same time. CONSTITUTION:When transmission signals of stations 904, 906 are mixed on the communication medium 1, a frequency f46 being a difference between frequencies f4 and f6 is generated by carrier signals F, F'. When a beat signal detector 704 detects the signal f46, a beat detecting signal is generated and a transmission interrupting device 404 interrupts the transmission of signal to the medium 1 by a modulator 304 in response to the presence of the beat detecting signal. A beat signal detector 706 is operated also at the station 906 at the series of operation and the transmission of signal to the medium 1 of the modulator 306 is interrupted by a transmission interrupting device 406. |
