PURPOSE:To achieve an easy printing of dot-pattern-like characters or the like using a letterpress by printing an ink applied on a plate forming a dot pattern on an object to be printed through the letterpress provided on other plate holder. CONSTITUTION:A plate 2 forming a dot pattern on the perimeter of a plate cylinder 1 is mounted and an ink is applied on the surface of the plate 2 with an inking roller. A letterpress 4 is provided on a plate holder 3. The plate holder 3 herein used shall be a plate cylinder or a plate base. When applying an offset rotary press, a branket cylinder may be used as the plate holder 3. The letterpress 4 is provided to express characters, symbols and the like and the plate surface shall be smooth. As an ink is transferred onto the letterpress 4 from the plate 2 forming the dot pattern, it is applied to the surface of the letterpress 4 in a dot pattern. Then, the letterpress 4 is pressed on an object 5 to be printed such as printing paper to print. As a result, characters, symbols and the like formed with a dot pattern are printed on the object 5 being printed. |
