PURPOSE:To maintain an ion exchange resin as a fixed bed in the lower part of a tank and to improve the effect of treatment by providing flexible communication pipes in a partition wall body provided in the ion exchange resin bed and prohibiting the flow and fluidization of the ion exchange resin in the stage of upward current. CONSTITUTION:An ion exchange resin 12 is packed in the lower chamber of a partition wall body 2 which segments the inside of a hermetically sealed tank 1 of a vertical type, and a pressurized medium is supplied therein through a pressurized medium supply and discharge port 9 to close flexible communication pipes 7. Feed water is supplied through an inlet 15 and is passed upward through the ion exchange resin bed 12. The treated water is removed through a water collector 16 to an outlet 17. The supply of the feed water is stopped and the pipes 7 are opened, then washing water is supplied through an inlet 17 and is passed upward to discharge the suspended matter, etc. captured in the bed 12 through an outlet 19. The upward passage of the water is stopped in the stage of washing for regeneration, and after the resin bed 12 settles, a regenerating liquid is supplied through an inlet 20 and is passed in downward current in the bed 12. The waste regenerating liquid is discharged through an outlet 21. |
