PURPOSE:To enable an automobile to be parked in high safety, by providing a mechanism which holds a hydraulically operated service brake in an operating condition when a parking brake control member is operated. CONSTITUTION:First, a parking brake control lever 24 is pulled at parking, and a parking brake 28 is placed in an operating condition. Next, a control knob 40 is pulled to turn on a full stroke switch 110, and a coil 100 is excited to engage a protrusion 106 of a movable iron core 104 to an opening 96 of the control knob 40, holding the protrusion to be engaged. While pulling operation of the control knob 40 turns a holding lever 42 through a cable 44, and a pressure holding valve in a control valve 18 is closed, thus holding the pressure of brake oil fed to wheel cylinders 20a, 20b, 22a, 22b in a high level condition. This condition is confirmed by a hold lamp 38 being turned on by pressure switches 48, 50. |
