PURPOSE:To form an intrasurface nondirectionally oriented structure of large grain size and to improve the magnetic characteristics of a thin strip formed on a moving cooling surface from a molten steel contg. a prescribed percentage of Si by rolling and/or polishing the strip to regulate the thickness before annealing at a prescribed temp. CONSTITUTION:A steel contg. 2-8wt% Si is refined. The molten steel is sprayed on a cooling surface which is moving at high speed to manufacture a thin strip. The strip is rolled and/or polished to regulate the thickness to 20-300mum. The worked sheet is annealed at 1,050-1,300 deg.C. The (100) axes of the grains are highly concentrated on the direction of the normal line of the sheet, so the magnetic characteristics are improved. |
