[Also in Division A5] The novel compound, 5-nitrofurfural 3,5-dinitrosalicyloylhydrazone is prepared by reacting 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid hydrazide with 5-nitrofurfural or an acetal or acylal thereof containing 1 to 8 carbon atoms in the acetal or acylal moiety. The compound is useful for promoting the growth of poultry or fowl and/or controlling histomoniasis in poultry or fowl.</p> |
