PURPOSE:To take out easily jammed paper and to restart speedily copying operation by providing a device which separates transfer paper in the failure of separation only when a detecting mechanism for transfer paper in the failure of separation detects the transfer paper on a drum. CONSTITUTION:When a detection sensor 8 detects an error in separation, a solenoid 34 rotates a pressure lever 30 counterclockwise against the magnetic force of a magnet 31 and a friction member 26 is pressed against transfer paper 16 on the photosensitive drum 1 through a leaf spring 27. On the other hand, the pressure lever 30 releases a microswitch 32 from being pressed to stop copying operation and jammed paper 16 floating over the drum surface is taken out manually. Therefore, the jammed paper is removed easily without staining a hand and damaging the drum surface. Then, a release lever 28 is rotated clockwise to separate the friction member 26 from the drum surface and the switch 32 is pressed to start the copying operation. |
