PURPOSE:To improve the permeation preventing effect and the pigment effect by forming a sizing layer on the surface of a paper base using a composition contg. a specified amount each of a latex type thermoplastic resin binder, a silica filler and a water soluble carboxylate polymer. CONSTITUTION:A sizing layer is formed on the surface of a paper base, and a photosensitive layer contg. a photolytic diazonium compound is formed on the sizing layer. The sizing layer is made of a composition contg. 35-70wt% (expressed in terms of solid matter) latex type thermoplastic resin binder, 20- 70wt% silica filler, and 0.05-20wt% water soluble carboxylate polymer. By forming the precoated layer for the diazo photosensitive layer using such a sizing agent, the permeation of the diazo dye into the paper base can be prevented, and the permeation preventing effect makes an optimum combination with the pigment effect of silica, so photosensitive paper having a significant color developing effect and giving a high density image of high contrast can be obtd. |
