The holder consists of a plastic outer cover surrounding a tubular antenna carrier. The carrier is held in place by upper and lower sealing inserts. A suspension loop is fitted to the upper insert and a co-axial plug is fitted to the lower one. Inside the tube, the required antenna section is connected to the centre pin of the plug and an earth spade terminal. A dipole antenna is formed by using a T-piece coaxial connector connecting the plugs of two holders, held together by the connector sleeve. Other antenna configurations, e.g. Yagi, are assembled using horizontal sections between vertical dipoles.
