Device of the type comprising a screw and at least one nut, the diameter of the screw being less than that of the nut in order to leave a space between the screw and the nut, in which space a plurality of spherical balls of diameter corresponding to the threads of the screw and of the nut are arranged, the said balls ensuring the link between the screw and the nut in order to allow the transmission of the relative movements of this screw and nut. According to the invention, this device is characterised in that it comprises contact means 12 capable of maintaining the said balls 8 in permanent contact with the screw 2 and the nut 3 in order to ensure a controlled rolling movement of these without parasitic forces, the device thus enabling recourse to a system for recycling the said balls to be avoided. <IMAGE>
