<p>The anchoring device detachably secures a wheel chair in position on a surface, e.g. the floor of a car. An adjustable column is detachably secured to the floor and a transverse shaft is detachable from the chair back, having loops parallel to the lengthwise axis of the chair extending rearwards on opposite sides of the column. An eccentric pin passed through the loops and turned bears against the rear of the column, so as to clamp column and shaft together. On each end of the shaft (3) is a claw (6), which can be clamped against a part of the chair. The shaft can be telescopic, and there can be a strip extending rearwards from each claw and to which the telescopic shaft is coupled.</p> |
