PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy in a tooth profile by rolling a blank material at the lap contact interval of an integer value and at the size larger than the prescribed face width then removing the end part thereof thereby decreasing the pulsation in the pushing and energizing force of a rolling tool on the blank material. CONSTITUTION:The working part 6a of a blank material 6 for a gear is rolled by allowing a larger size for the axial size b1 in said part than the intended size b3 of a tooth face. The fluctuation in the pushing and energizing force on the material 6 is decreased. The end part 7b of the generated gear is cut except a stem part 9a of the gear whereby a helical gear 9 having an intended face width b3 is formed. The fluctuation in the pushing and energizing force of the rolling tool on the blank material is thus decreased and the accuracy in the tooth profile is improved. |
