PURPOSE:To perform easily satisfactory welding under optimum welding conditions by setting the relative functions of the pulse frequency with respect to a wire feed speed and an arc voltage according to the kind of a welding wire and a welding procedure and selecting adequately these functions. CONSTITUTION:A pulse frequency fST1 and an arc voltage VST1 are beforehand set with respect to a wire feed speed for the purpose of spray transfer welding by a welding wire made of a mild steel or high tension steel. The pulse frequency fSUS and arc voltage VSUS are also set similarly for spray transfer welding by a welding wire made of a stainless steel. The pulse frequency fST2 and arc voltage VST2 are also set for short-circuiting transfer welding by a welding wire made of mild steel or high tension steel. These frequencies and voltages are set at fST2>=fSUS<fST1, VST2<=VSUS<VST1 for the same wire feed speed. These three function generating means are selected by a selector switch provided on the front panel, etc. of a power source, whereby three kinds of welding modes are selected extremely easily. |
