A terminal (2) of a data processing equipment with a video screen (11) exhibits an alphanumeric keyboard (3) and a control device (15) for a cursor. In order to allow rapid and reliable movement of the cursor to be obtained, the control unit (15) has a contact board (16) with a plane resistive layer (5) and a stylus (7). A transducer (25) digitises partial voltages picked off at the resistive layer (5) by means of the stylus (7). When a logic element (26) is operated, the cursor appears on the video screen (11) at a point corresponding to the digitised partial voltages.
