<p>PURPOSE:To improve the wear resistance and seizure resistance of the resulting sliding member and to prevent the wear and fouling of its opposite member by plasma-spraying a powdered mixture having a specified composition consisting of high carbon Fe-Cr alloy powder, Mo powder and soft alloy powder on the surface of a base material. CONSTITUTION:High carbon Fe-Cr alloy powder is composed of, by weight, 55- 70% Cr, 3-9% C and the balance Fe with Si, Mn, P and S as inevitavle impurities. Soft alloy powder is prepared by blending one or more among Al alloy powder, Cu alloy powder and carbon steel powder. A powdered mixture consisting of 30-85% said high carbon Fe-Cr alloy powder, 10-50% Mo powder and 2-35% said soft alloy powder is plasma-sprayed on the surface of a base material to form a sprayed layer. Thus, a sliding member is obtd.</p> |
