A container for eggs, fruit or like products is constructed from a sheet of synthetic thermoplastics material and is formed of two parts (9, 10) held together by a flat spine bounded by two grooves (15) and having recesses (12) to house the contents in at least one of the parts (9, 10). The parts (9, 10) have mating ledges (22'', 22''') and cylindrical spacers (38) to prevent jamming of nested empty containers, said parts (9, 10) being held in the closed condition by cooperating members (16, 17) in such a way that the said mating surfaces are in contact with each other. Guide members for facilitating folding of the container to the closed condition consist of ramps made as a continuation of the wall surfaces of the grooves (15) on the parts (9, 10) and on the spine (14) and spacers (19') formed in the cover part (10) are of a height corresponding to the height of said cylindrical spacers (38). <IMAGE> |
