PURPOSE:To effectively dissipate impact energy, by providing a miniature type hydraulic damper device as a bottoming preventing mechanism for preventing the bump between a piston and a cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A bottoming preventing mechanism A arranged in the vicinity of a spring seat 31 for a damper spring 19, has an auxiliary cylinder 41 charged with hydraulic oil and an auxiliary piston 47 secured to an auxiliary piston rod 53. When the damper device is strongly compressed so that a piston rod 27 reaches its terminal end, the end cap 23a of a cylinder 23 strikes against a bumper plate 55 to pressingly move the auxiliary piston 47 while compressing a resilient member 57. When hydraulic oil in one chamber (a) of the auxiliary cylinder 41 flows into the other chamber (b) through gaps in valves 51, 51 within orifices 49, 49 formed in the auxiliary piston 47, a large damping force is generated due to small passage areas of the gaps. When the piston rod 27 is extended, the valves 51 open so that the stream of hydraulic oil is smoothly forwed from the chamber (b) to the chamber (a), and therefore, the mechanism A promptly returns to its original position by resilient force of the resilient member 57. |
