PURPOSE:To reduce the wearing speed of a refractory layer and to extend the life of a furnace by packing a coarse-grained refractory into a space around a tuyere, and forcing a fluidized fine-grained refractory into the space. CONSTITUTION:A burnt-out tuyere 1 is pulled out, a new tuyere 1 is inserted, and a coarse-grained refractory 3 having >=1mm. grain size is packed into a space around the tuyere 1. A fine-grained refractory 4 fluidized with a flux such as tar is then forced into the space. After drying the refractory 4, the refractories 3, 4 are sintered. By this method the wearing speed of a refractory layer around the tuyere is reduced, and the life of a furnace is extended. |
