PURPOSE:To eliminate the stagnation of a cooling liquid in the system and to smooth the cooling liquid flow with good cooling efficiency by providing screw fins on the inside peripheral surface of the disc device of a rotary atomizer to accelerate the discharging of the cooling liquid. CONSTITUTION:A cooling plate 2 positioned in the uppermost part of a disc device 1 in a rotary atomizer for producing metallic powder is cooled by the cooling liquid flow 6 introduced into the device through an introducing pipe 5 for the cooling liquid. The cooling liquid used for cooling the plate 2 is forcibly and continuously discharged by the screw fins 3 formed on the inside surface of the device 1. A heat insulating coating is applied on the outside peripheral surface of the pipe 5 to prevent the absorption of the heat from the liquid flow on the discharging side. A stable cooling effect is maintained without the need for installing a baffle by the above-mentioned device even if the device 1 is rotated at a high speed. |
