The metering device is intended for, in particular, bulk materials, such as sugar, salt, legumes, or the like, and consists of at least two chambers, which have a variable capacity, are to be opened and closed downwards, cyclically, or directed into the hoppers, and above which a bulk material feed element is arranged. The bulk material feed element for the chambers (1) is formed from a stationary, horizontal and laterally closed drum (2). The chambers (1) are arranged on the drum (2) next to one another in the lower region (3) at through-put apertures (4). Arranged rotatably in the drum (2) is a bulk material receiving box (6) which is open on both sides in relation to the drum wall (5) and into which a bulk material conveyor (8) projects concentrically with respect to the drum and box axis (7). <IMAGE>
