<p>An improved door slide operating mechanism consisting of a door slide (38) with an operated end having a clevis link (51...53), a crank (60) having a lower long journal (61) received in a bored boss (32) formed in the bottom portion (12) of a disk cartridge casing and a short upper journal (62) received in a bored boss formed in an upper casing portion, and a spring (67) wound in tension about the lower journal boss (32) and having a free arm (69) biased against an operating end (64) of the crank (60).</p><p>The mechanism is easily assembled by winding the spring (67) about the boss (32), inserting a temporary holding pin into an additional boss formed in the bottom casing (12) to provide a stop for the spring arm (69), engaging a forked end of a crank arm (64) with the doorslide clevis (51...53), inserting the long lower journal (61) into its corresponding bore (33), and removing the temporary pin so that the free spring end (69) bears against a stop provided on the crank arm (64).</p> |
