<p>The method and apparatus are for waterproofing sheet-like textile materials which are supple and/or risk being deformed by stretching. In the method, the sheet (14) is made to advance continuously by unwinding it from a reel (12) and making it pass over rollers (15, 16, 17) as far as a horizontal conveyer (18). Above the conveyer is an extrusion ramp (24) which can deposit on the sheet (14) a uniform layer of an aqueous emulsion of acrylic resin. The deposited layer is subsequently dried, particularly by infra-red radiation in a processing station (30). Application particularly to water-proofing woven and non-woven sheets of fibres. <IMAGE></p> |
