PURPOSE:To raise the saturation of color pictures by a method in which each threshold value determined in such a way that the total sum of the threshold values of each color beomes nearly fixed is compared with the picture signal of each color by a comparator to form a picture element. CONSTITUTION:The matrix of threshold values from 1 to 16, as shown in (a), (b) and (c), is each stored in ROM 31, ROM 32 and ROM 33, and orderly put in comparators 2M, 2Y and 2C synchronously with clock signal CLK. By setting up the threshold values in such a way as to nearly equalize the total sum of the trheshold values corresponding to each matrix, when picture signal of medium level of each color obtained from the same primary picture element is put in plural comparators 2M, 2Y and 2C, the probability that signals ''1'' are sent out from two or three comparators is lowered. |
