PURPOSE:To print on a small-width recording paper with the left end of the paper as a reference while to print on a large-width sheet paper with the center of the paper as a reference, by a method wherein the size of a recording paper is designated, and the same contents of a record can be printed in different recording formats in response to the size being designated. CONSTITUTION:A sheet paper detecting part SW is turned OFF when an A4 size sheet paper is inserted, and a signal is transmitted to a calculating controlling part U. An RAM part A is provided with an AR register constituted of 16 digit places for a small-width rolled paper, a BR register used in detecting the number of digit places of the data to be printed or the like. In the case of data data, it is determined that there are two pieces of point information, and discrimination of step (16) is executed. A printing-out operation is conducted with the left end of the paper as a reference in the case of printing on the small-width rolled paper, while it is conducted with the center of the paper as a reference in the case of printing a title or the like on the A4 size large-width sheet paper, and is conducted with the right end of the sheet paper as a reference in the case of printing date data or the like. |
