PURPOSE:To prevent a gap to a stator core in the step of press-fitting a frame to the outer periphery of a stator core by forming the frame in a drum shape. CONSTITUTION:A jaw 6a is divided into segments to be radially uniformly arranged movably on a head 8. The outer periphery of the jaw 6a is formed in a drum shape 14 in axial section. In other words, when a primarily machined cylindrical frame 3 is inserted into the outer periphery of the jaw 6a and one end 3a is clamped and supported by a stepped collar 13 on the outer periphery, the outer periphery 15 of the jaw 6a which has a length corresponding to the width L1 at the axial center of the frame 3 is formed in the prescribed size D when the frame 3 is expanded by expanding step. A drum shape which has a slope 16 increased in approx. 0.1-0.15mm. from both ends of the cylinder in the central width L2 toward the both ends of the frame 3 in full width L is formed. |
