PURPOSE:To increase the number of kinds of originals usable in an automatic paper conveyor for a facsimile transmitter or the like and prevent the original from being moved obliquely, by providing a protrusion on the central part of a separating member which can be moved into and out of contact with a paper conveying roll. CONSTITUTION:When a paper conveying roll 3 is rotated in the direction of an arrow H, the lowermost original 1 is conveyed by a frictional force N1. The frictional force N1 is so strong that the front edge of the original 1 smoothly passes over a protrusion 25 and the original 1 is sent. The original 1 is separated from the second one 20 if an inequality N3+G>N2, in which N2 and N3 denote frictional forces and G denotes a force necessary for the original 20 to pass over the protrusion 25 of a separating member 5 after coming into contact with the protrusion, is established. Since the separating member 5 and the paper conveying roller 3 in an automatic paper conveyor are in point contact with each other at the protrusion 25, the original 1 can be turned about the contact point. For that reason, if the original 1 is guided on both the side edges by plates, the original can be prevented from being moved obliquely. |
